My Dear Veterans and beloved Flock, St. Paul poignantly shares with us in 1 Corinthians [1 Cor 15:54-55] the meaning of our corruptible bodies and the incorruptibility of our souls in words, I am sure, we have heard before: “Death is swallowed up in victory. Where, O death is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” For the sting of death is sin—and Christ Jesus came to conquer sin and death. This weekend we honor those who have given their lives for love of their country. They are never forgotten and we pay tribute to them, not just today, but every day in remembrance of their sacrifice so that we may continue to live free and worship the unseen God. This day of remembrance is a time to embrace the Mercy of the LORD, knowing that He will never abandon us; He will never leave us orphans. There are perhaps several or many from our parish that have suffered the loss of a loved one who served our country with courage and valor. There are perhaps several or many from our parish that have persevered by grace of God to represent all who have defended this great nation. We are thankful for their sacrifice and for wearing the uniform so honorably. We honor those men and women who out of duty to God and country have never desired recompense, rather, have been grateful to defend their country despite the hardship they and their families may have had to endure. Their selflessness is a reflection of the Christian virtue of charity—of love—which is the greatest gift bestowed by the Almighty Father upon His creation. This weekend we honor our service men and women who lay at rest throughout this nation and around the world because they loved their families, they loved their nation—they loved freedom and the freedom to love their God. Their victory lies in that they loved well:“And the victory that conquers the world is our faith. Who [indeed] is the victor over the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”[1 John 5:4, 5]Take a moment this weekend and let us bow our heads in solemn thanksgiving for the loved ones we know and for those known only to the unseen God who served our nation because they loved: Let us pray: Dear Heavenly Father, Creator of all life, Your Son Jesus promised,“You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free.”[Jn 8:32] Thank you for the self-giving sacrifice of the men and women who have served our country in the cause of truth, freedom, and peace. Help us to remember them and to never take them for granted. Dear Lord, please bring all our nation’s veterans who have died into Your Heavenly Kingdom and console their families with Your unending love. Send Your healing power on all our wounded service men and women and help us to care for them and their families with Christ-like love. My Beloved Flock: I am notifying the faithful that beginning on May 23rd, Pentecost Sunday, the following changes will be made regarding Mass attendance at Holy Rosary: Wearing of a facial mask will be optional, not mandatory. Social distancing will no longer be mandatory. All pews will be open for seating. Families are encouraged to sit together as a group. Sanitizer will still be available and encouraged. Sanitizing of pews between masses will continue . The “Sign of Peace” will remain “at a distance.”

Mother’s Day Prayer Most Gracious Heavenly Father, We thank You for our mothers to whom You have entrusted the care of every precious human life from its very beginning in the womb. You have given to woman the capacity of participating with You in the creation of new life. Grant that every woman may come to understand the full meaning of that blessing, which gives her an unlimited capacity for selfless love for every child she may be privileged to bear, and for all Your children. Watch over every mother who is with child, strengthen her faith in Your fatherly care and love for her and for her unborn baby. Give her courage in times of fear or pain, understanding in times of uncertainty and doubt, and hope in times of trouble. Grant her joy in the birth of her child.
To mothers: You have given the great privilege and responsibility of being a child’s first teacher and spiritual guide. Grant that all mothers may worthily foster the faith of their children, following the example of Mary, Elizabeth, and other holy women who follow Christ. Help mothers to grow daily in knowledge and understanding of Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and grant them the wisdom to impart this knowledge faithfully to their children, and to all who depend upon them. Assist all “spiritual mothers”, those who, though they may have no children of their own, nevertheless selflessly care for the children of others – of every age and state in life. Grant that they may know the joy of fulfilling this motherly calling of women, whether in teaching, nursing, religious life, or in other work which recognizes and fosters the true dignity of every human being created in Your image and likeness. Oración para el Día de las Madres Misericordioso Padre Celestial, Te damos gracias por nuestras madres a las que has confiado el cuidado de cada preciosa vida humana desde su comienzo en el útero. Le has dado a la mujer la capacidad de participar contigo en la creación de nueva vida. Haz que toda mujer llegue a comprender el significado pleno de esa bendición, que le da una capacidad ilimitada de amor desinteresado por cada hijo que pueda tener el privilegio de tener y por todos Tus hijos. Cuida de toda madre que esté embarazada, fortalece su fe en Tu cuidado y amor paternales por ella y por su bebé por nacer. Dale valor en tiempos de miedo o dolor, comprensión en tiempos de incertidumbre y duda, y esperanza en tiempos de problemas. Concédele alegría por el nacimiento de su hijo.
A las madres Les ha dado el gran privilegio y la responsabilidad de ser la primera maestra y guía espiritual de un niño.
